Technical Project Manager – AD Trust & Microsoft 365 Migration
Preston / North West – Hybrid, 2–3 days per week in the office
£400–£450 per day | Inside IR35
12-month contract | ASAP start
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major Active Directory Trust implementation and Microsoft 365 tenant migration programme.
You’ll act as the central point of coordination between technical teams, business stakeholders, suppliers and delivery partners, ensuring projects are delivered to agreed timelines, governance standards and business outcomes.
Key responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end delivery of the AD Trust and M365 migration programme

Manage integrated project plans, schedules, resources, milestones and dependencies

Coordinate migrations across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Microsoft Teams

Oversee Active Directory Trust, identity and authentication workstreams

Manage cross-functional teams across infrastructure, security, networking, cloud and migration

Own project governance, RAID management, reporting and senior stakeholder communications

Manage and hold third-party suppliers and delivery partners accountable

Coordinate SIT, UAT, pilot migrations, cutover rehearsals and go-live readiness

Drive business readiness, adoption, knowledge transfer and operational acceptance
Key experience required:
-
Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure, cloud and Microsoft 365 transformation projects

Strong experience managing large-scale M365 tenant migrations

Experience coordinating Active Directory, identity and authentication projects

Strong knowledge of Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive

Understanding of tenant-to-tenant migration methodologies

Proven supplier, stakeholder and cross-functional team management experience

Strong project governance, RAID, risk, issue and dependency management skills

Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, from initiation to closure

Experience managing testing, deployment, cutover and go-live activities
Key deliverables include: Integrated Project Plans, RAID Logs, Governance & Reporting Packs, Testing Strategy, Migration Runbook, Cutover Strategy, Deployment Schedule, Executive Updates, Go-Live Reporting and Operational Acceptance.
Location: Preston as the primary hub, with travel to North West offices including Manchester. Agile/hybrid working with 2–3 days per week in the office, or in line with project requirements.
