Payments Project Manager

6-Month Contract (with possible extension) | Inside IR35 | £550–£600 per day | Central London – 2–3 days per week onsite

I’m working with one of my long-standing Financial Services clients to find an experienced Payments Project Manager to join their Payments portfolio on an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension.

While the title is Project Manager, this is very much a hands-on delivery role. We’re looking for someone who has personally owned and driven Payments projects from initiation through to implementation, rather than operating primarily at programme, governance or oversight level.

You’ll be responsible for keeping delivery moving, managing competing priorities and dependencies, working closely with business and technology teams and, ultimately, ensuring projects actually land.

Requirements

• Proven Project Manager experience delivering Payments change within Financial Services – this is essential.
• Strong track record of hands-on, end-to-end project delivery, from mobilisation through to implementation.
• PRINCE2 qualified.
• Able to demonstrate what you have personally delivered, rather than solely programme oversight or governance.
• Experience managing project plans, milestones, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies.
• Strong stakeholder management across business, technology, third parties and senior leadership.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and taking accountability for getting projects delivered.
• Able to work 2–3 days per week onsite in Central London.
• Comfortable working on an Inside IR35 contract at £550–£600 per day.

Nice to have

• Cards experience would be highly advantageous
• Wider transactional banking experience
• Experience developing business cases/change briefs and mobilising new initiatives

The initial contract will be 6 months with the possibility of extension.
