Business Change & Transformation Consultants

Business Analysis | Organisational Change | Policing Transformation | Contract

We are supporting a leading consultancy delivering a major transformation programme within a UK policing organisation. As the programme continues to grow, we are looking for several experienced contractors with backgrounds across business analysis, business change and transformation consulting.

These are not traditional, process-only BA roles. The consultancy needs high-calibre individuals who can quickly understand complex organisations, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and help translate strategic objectives into practical, deliverable change.

The opportunity

You will work closely with operational policing stakeholders, programme leaders and multidisciplinary delivery teams to understand current challenges, define future requirements and support the successful delivery and adoption of change.

Depending on your background, your responsibilities may include:

  • Leading discovery and requirements-gathering activity across complex operational environments

  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and frontline users

  • Translating business challenges into clear requirements, options and recommendations

  • Mapping current and future operating models, processes, capabilities and user journeys

  • Supporting organisational change, stakeholder engagement and business readiness

  • Producing high-quality reports, presentations, business cases and decision papers

  • Facilitating workshops with varied and sometimes challenging stakeholder groups

  • Identifying risks, dependencies and barriers to successful delivery

  • Helping bridge the gap between strategy, technology, operations and people

  • Supporting the implementation and adoption of new services, processes or ways of working

What we are looking for

Consultancy experience is essential. You may have worked for a Big Four organisation, a major transformation consultancy or a respected specialist boutique consultancy.

More important than the name of the consultancy is the quality and breadth of your experience. We are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:

  • Strong experience across business analysis, business change or transformation delivery

  • A consulting mindset, with the ability to assess complex problems and provide clear, credible recommendations

  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills

  • The confidence to engage with senior leaders while remaining effective with operational teams

  • Clear, articulate and persuasive written and verbal communication

  • The ability to facilitate workshops, challenge constructively and bring different stakeholders together

  • Experience operating in complex, politically sensitive or highly regulated environments

  • The ability to work independently, manage ambiguity and maintain momentum

  • A pragmatic and delivery-focused approach rather than relying solely on methodology

  • High standards of professionalism, judgement and attention to detail

Experience within policing, law enforcement, national security, central government or the wider public sector would be beneficial, but it is not essential where you can demonstrate strong consulting experience in another complex environment.

The individuals

The consultancy is looking for credible, engaging and highly capable consultants who make a strong impression with clients. You will need to be someone who listens carefully, communicates with clarity and can establish trust quickly.

This opportunity would suit an experienced consultant who combines structured analysis with strong emotional intelligence—someone equally comfortable developing detailed deliverables, leading stakeholder workshops and advising senior decision-makers.

Engagement details

  • Engagement: Contract

  • Client environment: UK policing and public safety

  • Location: UK-based, with hybrid working and some client-site attendance
