Power BI Developer

Central Government | Power BI | DAX | MI Reporting | SC Cleared | Hybrid | Competitive Rate

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to develop operational dashboards and management information reporting for this national programme. Your work will enable real-time visibility of safeguarding performance, workload management, operational metrics and programme benefits for stakeholders across the client organisation.

About the Programme

We are supporting a major central Government client on a mission-critical digital transformation programme to replace a legacy case management system with a modern, secure, cloud-native platform hosted on Microsoft Azure.

The new platform will automate referral ingestion, triage and case-handling workflows, integrate with key national systems, provide secure APIs for data exchange with partners, and deliver significant improvements in operational reporting, resilience and scalability.

This is a multidisciplinary programme bringing together a full delivery team to design, build, secure and support the platform from the ground up. It is an opportunity to work on nationally important digital infrastructure within a technically demanding and rewarding environment.

Working Arrangements

Location: Hybrid – various UK locations. Candidates must be able to attend site as required.

Clearance: Active SC Clearance is essential. Candidates without active SC clearance will not be considered.

Rate: Competitive, commensurate with experience. To be discussed on application.

  • Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and MI reporting solutions
  • Enable real-time operational visibility of safeguarding performance, caseload metrics and programme benefits
  • Work closely with operational and programme stakeholders to understand reporting requirements
  • Build and optimise DAX measures, calculated columns and data models within Power BI
  • Connect Power BI to Azure-hosted data sources including data warehouses, APIs and operational databases
  • Ensure reports are accurate, performant and accessible to a range of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Maintain and develop reporting solutions as the platform and data architecture evolves

Essential Requirements

  • Strong hands-on Power BI development experience including DAX, Power Query and data modelling
  • Experience connecting Power BI to cloud-hosted data sources (Azure SQL, Data Lake, APIs or equivalent)
  • Ability to translate complex operational requirements into clear, intuitive dashboards
  • Experience working with stakeholders to gather and refine reporting requirements
  • Active SC Clearance (essential – candidates without this will not be considered)
