Contract: Initial 12 Months
Sector: Energy & Utilities Consulting
Location: Hybrid/Remote – North West England
Rate: £300-350/day Outside IR35
The Role
Our client, a specialist consultancy delivering transformation programmes across the Energy & Utilities sector, is seeking two experienced Business Analysts to support a large-scale Application Packaging and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Migration programme.
The successful candidates will work closely with business stakeholders, application owners, infrastructure teams, EUC teams and third-party suppliers to capture, analyse and document business requirements, application knowledge, operational processes and dependencies. You will play a key role in ensuring applications are successfully packaged, tested and migrated into the AVD environment while minimising disruption to business operations.
This role requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement experience and the ability to bridge the gap between technical delivery teams and the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture, analyse and document business and technical requirements relating to application packaging and AVD migration activities.
- Build a detailed understanding of the application landscape, including usage, business criticality, ownership and dependencies.
- Work with application owners and SMEs to capture application knowledge and operational processes.
- Facilitate workshops to gather requirements, validate assumptions and support decision-making.
- Identify and document application dependencies, risks and migration impacts.
- Support application discovery, assessment and rationalisation activities.
- Create and maintain requirements documents, process maps, impact assessments and migration documentation.
- Define acceptance criteria and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
- Work closely with technical teams responsible for application packaging, deployment and AVD delivery.
- Support business readiness activities to ensure end users and support teams are prepared for migration.
- Track and manage risks, issues and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates and reporting to project and programme stakeholders.
Experience Required
- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst on large-scale technology transformation programmes.
- Experience supporting application packaging, application remediation, application migration or End User Computing (EUC) projects.
- Experience working on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Windows migration or digital workplace transformation programmes.
- Strong requirements gathering, business analysis and process mapping skills.
- Experience analysing application estates, dependencies and business impacts.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting testing, business readiness and deployment activities.
- Comfortable working across multiple workstreams within complex transformation programmes.
- Experience within Energy, Utilities, Infrastructure or other heavily regulated environments is desirable.
- Consultancy experience highly desirable.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile technology transformation programme and play a critical role in ensuring applications are successfully migrated and adopted while minimising impact on business operations.
