Senior Python Engineer

Senior Python Engineer – London (Bank) – Up to £90k

A growing London-based fintech are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help scale a business‑critical investment reporting platform used by global asset management clients. You’ll join at a pivotal point in their journey: evolving an established Django-based product while helping shape and build the next generation of their platform and product suite

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and building backend services using Python and Django
• Owning and evolving core platform components across a complex reporting system
• Architecting and delivering new features end‑to‑end, from concept through to deployment
• Working across AWS infrastructure and backend systems to improve scalability and performance
• Collaborating closely with frontend, design, and client-facing teams
• Mentoring engineers and driving best practice within a small, high-performing team

What they’re looking for

• 5+ years of professional Python experience
• Strong experience with Django and building production systems
• Solid understanding of full product development lifecycle
• Experience working with AWS or cloud infrastructure
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Confident communicator with the ability to mentor and guide others
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset in a collaborative environment

Experience within fintech, reporting platforms, or data-heavy systems is beneficial, but not essential.
