QAT Automation Engineer / DevOps Test Engineer
AWS | Python | CI/CD | SC / DV Cleared
We are supporting a secure government programme looking to hire a highly technical QAT Automation Engineer / DevOps Test Engineer to join a modern cloud-native software engineering team.
This is not a traditional manual testing role.
The team is operating within a serverless, event-driven AWS environment and is looking for someone who can help improve and optimise the route from developed code into live production safely, efficiently and at pace.
The successful candidate will work closely with software engineers, platform engineers and delivery teams to improve automation, testing, deployment reliability and release velocity across the wider engineering function.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated testing solutions across cloud-native applications and services
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and release processes to increase deployment speed and reliability
- Build and maintain integration and automated test frameworks within AWS environments
- Work closely with software engineers to ensure code is tested and production-ready
- Support deployment automation and environment consistency across development pipelines
- Help improve quality assurance practices across the engineering team
- Contribute towards DevOps and automation best practices
- Assist with troubleshooting deployment and integration issues within cloud environments
- Support continuous improvement around testing strategy, automation and operational resilience
Core Technical Skills

Clearance
Active SC, enhanced SC or DV clearance is highly desirable.
Candidates without active clearance may still be considered depending on previous government experience and eligibility.
