Network Engineer – IP Networks, Multicast, SMPTE 2110
We’re looking for a Network Engineer to design and manage the high-performance infrastructure that powers live TV broadcast & streaming operations.
What You’ll Do
- Architect & Deploy: Design and maintain scalable LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi infrastructure built for high availability.
- Merge IT with Broadcast: Integrate IP and cloud-based technologies (SMPTE ST 2110) to support video/audio production, editing suites, and transmission.
- Manage Enterprise Gear: Get hands-on with enterprise-grade hardware, specifically Arista routers, switches, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Protect & Monitor: Proactively hunt for latency and packet loss while enforcing iron-clad security segmentation to protect our live streams.
- Collaborate: Partner with systems and security teams to build resilient workflows and participate in an on-call rotation to support our 24/7 operations.
What You Bring
- Proven Track Record: Solid experience in network engineering, ideally within a high-pressure, 24/7 broadcast or media environment.
- IP Broadcast Expertise: Deep knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 and broadcast-specific network protocols.
- Hardware Fluency: Expert-level configuration skills with routers and switches (Arista experience is a major plus).
- Analytical Mindset: The ability to troubleshoot complex bottlenecks under the ticking clock of live TV.
- Documentation Skills: A knack for creating clear diagrams and disaster recovery plans that the whole team can follow.
