Modern Workplace Product Engineer

This role supports an organisation-wide digital transformation initiative focused on simplifying how employees work, communicate, and collaborate. The IT Infrastructure team is driving the shift toward a modern, secure, and flexible digital workplace through the adoption and optimisation of Microsoft 365 technologies. The M365 Product Engineer plays a key part in this transformation by managing and evolving the Microsoft 365 ecosystem to ensure it meets the organisation’s operational, security, and productivity goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all aspects of the Microsoft 365 platform, including Teams, OneDrive, Intune, and Entra ID.

• Provide Tier 3 technical support for complex M365 incidents and service requests.

• Oversee system health, security posture, and compliance across the M365 environment.

• Drive adoption and effective use of M365 tools to improve collaboration, communication, and productivity.

• Support digital transformation and workplace modernisation projects aligned with business objectives.

• Manage Microsoft licensing across all relevant services and environments.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.

• Ensure adherence to internal security, governance, and data protection standards.

• Administer identity and access management, MFA, and device compliance through Entra ID and Intune.

• Contribute to infrastructure projects that enhance digital workplace security and efficiency.

• Automate administrative and operational tasks using PowerShell and Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).

• Perform other duties as required by line management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently with initiative and energy.

• Proven experience managing Microsoft 365 environments within medium to large enterprise settings.

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, Teams, and Intune.

• Proficient in PowerShell scripting and M365 security/compliance administration.

• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).

• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and effective communication across technical and business teams.

• Broad technical knowledge of both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure and security solutions.

• Understanding of cloud governance, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance controls.

• Experience managing third-party suppliers and vendors.

• Comfortable working in a multi-site environment with complex technology landscapes.

• Strong grounding in ITIL processes, particularly Change, Incident, and Problem Management.
