An early view of the Beyond Headcount Blueprint

Workforce planning was built for a stable world. The world we’re heading into isn’t stable. The task mix of most jobs is changing every twelve months. Upskilling can’t keep up. Headcount is the wrong unit to be planning in.

Earlier this year, La Fosse convened the AI Workforce Council. Ten of the UK’s most senior AI, data and transformation leaders, hand-picked from businesses including Mars, Beazley, ITV, McDonald’s UK, Admiral and BCG X, all doing this work in their own organisations right now.

The Council has now met. The conversation covered the planning model itself, headcount versus capability, upskilling at pace, governance of AI agents inside the business, and the 18-month window UK organisations have to be on the right side of the AI maturity gap.

That conversation is now becoming the Beyond Headcount Blueprint, our practical guide for UK leaders on how to plan their workforce for the AI era. Structured by executive role, with specific recommendations for CPOs, CHROs, CTOs, CISOs and CDOs, drawn straight from the Council’s session.

On 28th October, La Fosse is bringing a small group of senior leaders together over dinner at Lucky Cat, Bishopsgate, for an early view. Guests will be among the very first to receive the Blueprint, ahead of public release. The dinner is the conversation around what it means and what to do with it. Members of the AI Workforce Council who co-authored the Blueprint will be in the room, ready to take questions directly.

This is a working dinner designed around the Blueprint.

The evening includes

  • First access to the Beyond Headcount Blueprint before public release
  • A structured discussion on the Blueprint’s findings and the Workforce 2027 Action Matrix
  • Direct Q&A with members of the AI Workforce Council who co-authored the Blueprint
  • Peer conversation with senior leaders shaping AI-driven workforce planning in practice
