Azure Technical Lead

La Fosse are currently partnered with a customer who are looking to hire an Azure Technical Lead into their team, on an initial 6 month contract.

This role is outside IR35 and based out of the customer’s London office. The expectation is 3 days a week onsite, but this can be flexed if needed.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to coordinate and drive technical delivery within our multifunctional Cloud Platform Team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that combines deep technical expertise with delivery excellence, team capability building, and quality advocacy.

As Technical Lead, you will be the north star for delivery quality and technical standards, coordinating the team to transform architectural designs into deliverable stories, promoting collaborative working practices, and ensuring the team operates at peak effectiveness. You will be the “been there, done that” voice that grounds planning in delivery reality, mentors the team in best practices, and exemplifies what great technical delivery looks like.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead story refinement sessions, working with Cloud Architects to decompose designs into implementable stories
• Ensure stories have clear acceptance criteria that are testable, complete, and understood by all team members
• Break down complex features into appropriate story sizes (1-2 days of work)
• Identify technical dependencies, risks, and blockers during refinement
• Challenge scope and push back on unclear requirements to maintain delivery quality
• Ensure technical approach is sound before stories reach “Ready” state
• Coordinate technical delivery across the multifunctional team
• Facilitate technical discussions and decision-making during story implementation
• Identify when stories are blocked and actively work to unblock them
• Balance work distribution across team members based on skills and capacity
• Ensure WIP limits are respected and work flows smoothly through the system
• Act as escalation point for technical challenges during implementation
