Security Engineer – Contract

A global technology organisation is seeking a Contract Security Engineer to support its M&A and separation programme, ensuring the business remains secure throughout and after divestment. The role requires a versatile security specialist with strong experience across OT (including Defender for IoT), cloud security, PAM, and DLP.

Day Rate: £700–£840 per day
IR35: Outside
Duration: 6 months initial
Location: 1 day per week in Central London

Key Experience Required

• Design, configure, and implement core security controls for the post-divestment environment, ensuring the separated entity is secure by default.

• Develop and enhance security capabilities across:

  • Identity & Access Management (authentication, access policy design, PAM integration)

  • Endpoint protection (EDR, antivirus, vulnerability scanning, patch management)

  • Network security (firewall policies, segmentation, secure remote access, ZTNA/SASE)

  • OT/ICS security, including asset discovery, segmentation, and Defender for IoT or equivalent tooling

  • Data protection (DLP, data classification, encryption, insider-risk controls)

• Support the creation and validation of secure baseline configurations aligned with CIS Benchmarks and NIST CSF 2.0.

• Lead or contribute to remediation and hardening activities arising from penetration testing and separation-related risk assessments.
