Principal WordPress Engineer

We are working with a household brand to find a Principal Engineer with a background in enterprise WordPress. This position offers the chance to shape technical strategy and drive innovation across their WP centre of excellence!

What you’ll do:

• Lead technical conversations with engineers, architects, and stakeholders.
• Own technical strategy alongside the Head of Engineering.
• Mentor and grow a high-performing team.
• Champion coding standards, TDD, and DevOps best practices.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong engineering background with a passion for clean, tested code.
• WP stack experience – WPCLI, Gutenberg, React, PHP, TDD/E2E
• Experience balancing commercial goals with user experience.
• Agile mindset and collaborative approach.
• Continuous improvement mentality and openness to new ideas.

Salary expectations – up to £120,000K (dependant on experience)
