Director of Data Management
London or Reading (4 days per week in office)
£115,000 + £7,500 car allowance + 20% bonus
The Opportunity
A leading enterprise Telco organisation is seeking a Director of Data Management to take ownership of enterprise-wide data governance and lifecycle management. This is a high-impact leadership role, shaping and embedding end-to-end data governance across a complex, regulated environment.
You will be responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and execution of data management and governance practices across the organisation, leading a senior team of 6–7 Heads of Function.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive end-to-end Data Governance across the full data lifecycle
- Build and implement enterprise-wide Data Governance strategy and frameworks, and be able to articulate how these were developed and delivered end-to-end
- Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and compliance across multiple domains
- Partner with senior technology, product, and business stakeholders to align data governance with commercial objectives
- Lead, mentor, and develop a leadership team of 6–7 senior managers
- Influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders at executive level
- Support large-scale transformation initiatives within a complex Telco environment
About You
- Proven experience in a Director-level Data Management or Data Governance role within a large enterprise environment
- Demonstrable track record of building and implementing Data Governance strategy and frameworks, with the ability to explain end-to-end delivery
- Strong background in Data Governance, including ownership of policies, controls, and lifecycle management
- Confident senior leader with experience managing leaders of leaders
- Able to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution
