HR & Payroll Systems Trainer (FTC)

Overview

An established organisation is seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Systems Trainer to support the delivery and rollout of a new HRIS/payroll platform. The project is currently in the delivery phase, with configuration being completed by the supplier. The successful candidate will join during train-the-trainer sessions and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) starting in January.

This role plays a key part in ensuring a successful launch and smooth system adoption across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver effective training on the new HR & Payroll system to diverse user groups.

  • Develop user-friendly training materials, guides, and e-learning content.

  • Participate in train-the-trainer sessions and become a system expert.

  • Support UAT activities, including scenario creation, validation, and feedback.

  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, IT, and external suppliers to ensure training aligns with business processes.

  • Facilitate both virtual and face-to-face training sessions, with occasional on-site visits as required.

  • Support future phases of the programme, including case management and L&D module rollouts.

Essential Experience

  1. Proven experience delivering HR & Payroll system training (end-user and/or super-user).

  2. System-agnostic HRIS expertise, ideally including:

    • People XD (strong preference), or

    • Tier-2 systems such as Dayforce, Ceridian, or similar.

  3. Ability to quickly learn new HR/payroll platforms and translate processes into engaging training content.

  4. Strong communication skills and confidence delivering training to varied audiences, including frontline and operational teams.

  5. Experience in complex, multi-site or structured environments.

Desirable Experience

  • Industry experience similar to rail (highly desirable but not essential).

  • Experience supporting HRIS go-lives or large-scale system implementations.

  • Ability to create blended learning content (virtual, classroom, video, written guides).

Travel Requirements

  • Primarily remote.

  • Occasional travel for on-site training sessions as needed.

  • Travel is minimal and expenses are fully paid.
