Infrastructure Project Manager

Location: Birmingham or Cardiff (Hybrid – 3 days per week on-site, 2 days remote)
Salary: £65,000 per annum

About the Role

La Fosse are partnered with a leading legal firm who are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to join their Global IT Operations team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of high-profile, business-critical projects, centered around Infrastructure & Azure projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full project lifecycle: design, supplier onboarding, planning, build, test, deployment, and lessons learned.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of internal teams and third-party suppliers.
  • Create and maintain MS Project plans, track dependencies, and report progress against key milestones.
  • Own and manage the RAID log, ensuring risks are mitigated and issues resolved.
  • Engage technical teams and stakeholders, keeping them informed throughout the project.
  • Communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with IT, business teams, and vendors to deliver effective designs.
  • Report on project status, planning, and budget management.
  • Ensure smooth handover to support teams with full documentation.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • 5+ years’ experience delivering infrastructure implementation projects.
  • PRINCE2 certification (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Experience working with external suppliers and large outsource providers.
  • Professional services sector experience.
  • Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure), SaaS delivery.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in Professional services
  • Understanding of application design and software development lifecycle.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, able to build relationships at senior levels.
  • Ability to foster collaboration across teams and vendors.
  • Skilled in planning, monitoring, and controlling projects.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and negotiation.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and technical solutions at a detailed level.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies (MSP, PRINCE2).
  • Budgeting and resource allocation experience.
  • Problem-solving mindset with proactive approach.
