Platform Engineer

La Fosse are currently partnered with a customer who are looking to recruit a Platform Engineer into their team, on an initial 6 month contract.

This role are paying £500 per day, outside IR35 and 3 days a week in London.

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our multifunctional Cloud Platform Team as a senior individual contributor responsible for executing complex technical delivery and providing healthy challenge to architectural and delivery approaches.

Required Experience & Skills:

Essential Experience

• 8+ years hands-on infrastructure engineering in cloud environments
• Expert-level Terraform at enterprise scale – 50+ production modules/stacks
• Deep Azure experience across networking, security, governance, compute, PaaS services
• Proven delivery of complex infrastructure in regulated industries (banking, financial services, healthcare, government)
• Agile/Kanban multifunctional team experience with architects, engineers, DevOps, security
• Track record of constructive challenge and proposing feasible alternatives
• Production troubleshooting experience resolving complex technical issues
• Mentorship experience through pairing and hands-on collaboration

Essential Technical Skills

• Terraform: modules, state management, composable stacks, testing, patterns, anti-patterns
• Azure: VNets, NSGs, Firewall, private endpoints, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Entra ID, RBAC, PIM, Key Vault, Policy, compute, PaaS (App Service, Functions, ACA, AKS)
• DevOps: CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), Git workflows, testing frameworks, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Design patterns: Secure-by-design, IaC best practices, hub-and-spoke networking, observability, resilience, DR
• Microsoft ecosystem: M365, D365, Power Platform integration patterns
