La Fosse are currently partnered with a multinational oil and gas company who are looking for a Scrum Master to support the Product Owner and Development team to deliver value by guiding and coaching the scrum team and the wider organisation on how best to use agile/scrum practices and values.

The Scrum Master position is an initial 6 – 12 month contract, inside IR35, with the ideal candidate being able to be on-site in Central London 1 – 2 days per week.

Skills & experience

The successful Scrum Master candidate ideally has the following experience:

  • Scrum Master Certifications.
  • Extensive experience playing the Scrum Master role for a Scrum Team.
  • Experience being on multiple scrum teams in a variety of different contexts.
  • Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the agile space (XP, Kanban, Nexus etc).
  • Software Development background an advantage.

My Client is one of the world’s leading producers of premium entertainment content that connects billions of people in nearly every country in the world.

The Scrum Master has primary responsibility to plan, track, and deliver the projects to which they are assigned. He/she will identify key stakeholders and help define the project objectives. The Scrum Master manages projects according to my clients approved project frameworks, including both Agile and Waterfall project management approaches. He/she must be able to take an active senior leadership role in the team and create an environment that fosters the prescribed best practice methods and processes. Finally, the Scrum Master must be able to identify issues proactively, resolve conflicts, escalate if necessary, and work across the organisation to execute the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the multiple scrum teams throughout the whole software development lifecycle
  • Scrum Master of software development cross-functional teams, comprising of onsite / offsite engineers, QA, and an engineering manager
  • Scrum Master for content delivery and fulfilment teams including work with Infrastructure/SRE and API teams on backend technical roadmap initiatives
  • Manage releases across several teams by tracking fix versions in Jira and working with technical leads for deployments
  • Collaborate with Engineering Core engineers and various partners to prioritize and coordinate development efforts to deliver on schedule
  • Coach, facilitate and maintain a steady and beneficial Agile process methodologies for the teams, driving process and transparency
  • Communicate with the business around teams’ velocity and projects health while supporting the PMO in reporting on all teams’ status
  • Prepare and lead project plans, documentation, risk mitigation and resource management as needed for cross-team initiatives and large projects/programs
  • Act as a Scrum Master for 1-3 Scrum teams, working on multiple concurrent projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • Scrum Master certification with deep understanding of all things Agile (Scrum, Kanban and other methodologies)
  • 5+ years multi-project management experience in a technical (SDLC) environment
  • (Nice to have) Experience with Bitbucket, GitHub and Jenkins
  • Deep knowledge of agile and traditional frameworks
  • Extensive experience road mapping, planning, Gantt as well as fostering iterative processes and feedback milestones in the SDLC
  • Proficiency in tools: Jira, Confluence, Office 365, Slack
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate ideas in a fast-paced creative environment

La Fosse Associates are currently partnered with a client who are looking to hire a Scrum Master into their team, to support with one of their inflight Cloud Programmes. This role is outside IR35, paying £550-600 per day and be an initial 6 month contract.

This role will be based out of their London office and ideally looking for candidates who can do 1-2 days a week on site.

Skills / Suitability:

  • Scrum Master with Design / Architecture / Cloud experience
  • Agile trained – SAFe preferable
  • Some Agile tool experience – preferably JIRA
  • Excellent experience delivering to tight timescales with shared (non-dedicated) resources
  • Disciplined, rigorous, eye for detail
  • Strong leader upwards (reporting, comms) and downwards (leadership, problem solving)

Responsibilities:

    1. Drive a bottom-up plan which is understood and represents a shared vision
    2. Communicate key critical path activities to owners
    3. Measure and report progress
    4. Publish the plan and executive views of the plan
    5. High exceptions / changes, and be disciplined in holding the baselined plan until formally changed / re-published
  4. Tool Usage
    1. Ensure tooling is used effectively, limiting use of offline tracking
    2. Validate data (‘User Stories’) entered by the team – ensure accuracy
    3. Seek to use tooling for all ceremonies
    4. Deliver as much reporting from tooling as possible

IT Scrum Master

To lead and manage the Agile Delivery Team and monitor the Scrum processes and Scrum meetings. To lead the delivery of new regulatory applications to meet the business requirements the Scrum Master will be responsible for planning and assigning work, assessing risk, co-ordinating the work of the project team and communicating progress to key stakeholders using Agile principles. Ensure that Agile Team members are aware of their respective roles while using the Scrum framework. Backlog refinement and maintaining the product backlog. Ensure deliveries are reached by the Agile Team and delivery commitments are met throughout project lifecycle.

Oversee the design, implementation, quality assurance, and validation of programming code and products.
