A Database Developer is required to join on an initial 6 month contract to work on developing the legacy system on perm into cloud. You must have experience with Azure, SQL Server, Microsoft BI Stack and ETL.

You must show a data driven passion and will be focusing on more of the back end development.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting existing on premise environment as well as Azure Cloud environment

  • Write complex dynamic SQL queries and procedures

  • Design and implement ETL processing

  • Creating Azure data factory and pipelines

I’m currently working with one of the UK’s most-loved luxury retail companies. Their presence in London has been iconic since their inception in 1834. Whilst the role is called a senior database developer, the skills mentioned cover a hybrid ETL Developer/data engineer/senior database developer role. Here you will be working with a small, agile team ingesting data from multiple databases into a central database. The tech they are using is mostly SQL Server, SSIS, Python and then Azure/Azure devops.

The role will include the manipulation and analysis of complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques. The Senior Database Developer will design, develop & maintain ETLs to build interactive and curated data needed to drive insights through data science, reporting & analytics.

Skills:

  • Experience in designing and developing ETL solutions using both out-of-the-box ETL vendor technologies and SQL Server (SSIS)
  • Hands-on experience in database administration, custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL Server and other database solutions
  • DevOps/Git repository code promotion and change management experience including experience of using CI/CD techniques and processes in Azure DevOps

We are working with leading payments organisation who are going through a significant period of growth and transformation.

They are looking for a Senior Database Engineer to join their growing technology function which has recently moved across to AWS.

This role will work alongside a multi-disciplined team and be responsible for day-to-day management of DBE and other tasks across their environment.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Significant DBA/DBE experience covering the latest versions of MS SQL.
  • Good knowledge of On-Prem and Cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS).
  • Excellent performance tuning skills (Query Tuning, Indexing, Locking etc.).
  • Excellent MS SQL partitioning and High Availability skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
