Role Summary
The charging group require test resources to complete functional safety relevant sub system testing to support the upcoming Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) programmes. System testing will be conducted using a selection of Hardware In The Loop (HIL) test assets located in Shannon, Ireland.
La Fosse is looking for x2 embedded systems test engineers for a period of six months that will be working onsite. The engineers will be part of the functional safety system engineering team who will be responsible for the comprehensive testing of the functional safety functions within the high voltage power supply system.
This work will be part of the customer functional safety system engineering team who will be responsible for the comprehensive testing of the functional safety functions within the high voltage power supply system.
The span of the project will be a minimum of 6 months.
Area of Responsibility
- The engineers shall support the onsite team and wider functional safety system engineering team in the following activities.The engineers shall be present onsite 5 days a week in the customer workshop in Shannon
- The engineers shall have knowledge and experience working with embedded systems for power electronics components for On Board Charging, DC to DC converters, Battery Energy Management, Battery Management Systems, supervisory circuits and functional safety processes such as ISO26262
- The engineers shall have experience with National Instruments test equipment such as PXI, data acquisition cards, CAN, LIN, Ethernet cards, analog output cards, tools such as Test stand, Veristand, Labview.
- The engineers shall have experience implementing automated tests that measure accurate timing sequences.
- Engineers shall have experience modelling components as part of closed loop testing methods in a HIL system.
- Support lessons learnt and continuous improvement activities from all programmes as best practice
Knowledge / Experience
- Review requirements and test item documentation,
- Create test strategies based on analysis of test items and various test methods to be used,
- Leverage test automation, Execute tests Report test results.
- Raise product defects.
- Develop and maintain HIL test assets to support the testing activities.
- Project closure plan to outline completed test reports, test asset documentation and all compiled documentation relating to the test items and methods of testing.
- Handover plan to customer for any outstanding work to be completed at the end of the contract
