The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that automotive electrical and electronic systems meet electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards and regulatory requirements. This includes planning, executing, and analyzing EMC tests, troubleshooting compliance issues, and supporting the development of EMC design guidelines across vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and perform EMC validation testing for automotive components and systems in accordance with OEM and international standards (e.g., CISPR 25, ISO 11452, UNECE R10).

  • Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure EMC compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Provide guidance on EMC best practices in PCB layout, cable routing, shielding, grounding, and filtering.

  • Develop and execute EMC test plans, procedures, and documentation.

  • Interpret EMC test results and recommend design improvements when needed.

  • Coordinate with external test laboratories and suppliers for certification testing and issue resolution.

  • Analyze EMC failure root causes and work with cross-functional teams on corrective actions.

  • Stay up to date with regulatory and industry EMC requirements and trends.

  • Support product design reviews and participate in technical discussions related to EMC performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in EMC engineering, preferably in the automotive sector.

  • Hands-on experience with EMC test equipment (e.g., LISNs, antennas, amplifiers, spectrum analyzers).

  • Strong understanding of automotive electronic systems and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).

  • Knowledge of international EMC standards and vehicle-level EMC requirements.

  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and failure diagnostics.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.

  • EMC test certification (e.g., iNARTE, ISTQB EMC).

  • Experience with simulation tools for EMC (e.g., CST, ANSYS, SPICE).

  • Familiarity with functional safety (ISO 26262) or cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434) is a plus.
