Business Analyst (Salary: £45k – £55k)
Reports to: Head of Process Development
Remote position, with one day p/week in Birmingham (may need to travel ad-hoc to sites across England when required).
Role Overview:
The Business Analyst will work to drive the successful delivery of transformation initiatives. This role focuses on gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, aligning with cross-functional teams and supporting the improvement of business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering:
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements for transformation projects.
- Create customer journeys and write user stories, to capture and analyse business objectives.
- Develop clear documentation, including business process models and functional specifications.
Process Mapping:
- Conduct detailed AS-IS analysis of current processes, and identity TO-BE improvements for future-state process to improve optimisation and efficiency.
- Create process maps, workflows, and diagrams to existing processes and proposed changes, ensuring clarity for all stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a liaison between the business and technical teams to ensure alignment on expectations and delivery standards.
- Provide stakeholder updates on the progress of requirements gathering, analysis, and project delivery.
- Ensure clear and consise communication, and effectively address the needs of both technical and non-technical audiences.
Solution Design:
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, and communicate with technical teams & the business to evaluate risk.
- Support testing and Implementation for technical IT programmes, such as an Azure DevOps project.
- Support delivery teams, senior pm’s and technical SME’s with project plans.
- Collaborate with the testing team to ensure that test cases are comprehensive and reflect the needs of the business.
- Support implementation of technical projects, ensuring that a smooth adoption plan to ensure business os ready for change.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimisation within business processes, ensuring alignment with transformation objectives.
- Work to implement process improvement.
Key Relationships:
- Head of Process Development: Provide updates on business analysis activities and ensure alignment with process development and programme goals.
- Stakeholders:Work with complex SME’s and Business Users to gather functional requirements, and ensure business analysis is complete for transformations.
- Technical Teams: Support the implementations/testing & work with technical teams to ensure functional requirements are up-to-date for a smooth technical delivery.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a business analyst, ideally within transformation programmes, especially in agile environments.
- Proven track record of gathering technical requirements, workshop analysis, documenting, mapping and process improvement.
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and great communication/stakeholder management to influence key leaders with your analysis.
- Experience working in fast-paced and unstructured environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all
- Proficiency with business analysis tools and process mapping software (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
- Must have experience working in Agile.
