Embedded Software Engineer

La Fosse is working for a Global Electronics company where their technologies help ensure products sold across the globe are authentic and safe for consumers to use in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and industrial marketplaces.

As a Software Engineer, you are responsible for providing designs and technical solutions to new technology developments within the Technology team. Also, interpreting marketing specifications and provide technical concepts to Engineering problems.

This work involves developing new and improving existing software designs to meet customers’ requirements.

You will be located at our Nottingham site, this role is offered as hybrid.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining desktop and embedded software for new and existing products
• Collaborate closely with electronic, mechanical and other software engineers, and where necessary be responsible for: technical reviews, feasibility studies and project reviews as appropriate
• Communicate with customer facing support engineers
• Be an active member of daily Scrum meetings and fortnightly Sprint meetings

​The essential requirements of the job include:

• Minimum of 3 years’ software development experience in any object-oriented programming language for example: C++, Java, or C#
• Understanding of real-time and concurrent principles and an appreciation of networked devices, distributed processes, and packet-based protocols
• Ideally some experience of electronics control, interfacing motors, sensors
