Senior IT Project Manager
Location: Surrey or Hampshire, South East England (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead large-scale, cross-functional programmes and deliver business-critical change. This role provides the opportunity to shape projects from initial idea through to implementation, ensuring successful outcomes across systems, processes, and digital solutions.
You will take ownership for end-to-end delivery, engaging with stakeholders across business and technology, and ensuring that initiatives are delivered to agreed time, budget, and quality standards. Alongside project delivery, you will play a key role in embedding best practice, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to the organisation’s wider project management capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver medium-to-large cross-functional projects within agreed timeframes, budgets, and quality standards.
- Translate business ideas into clearly defined goals, scope, and measurable outcomes.
- Manage resources, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations effectively.
- Lead requirements gathering, ensuring full traceability from design through to testing and implementation.
- Oversee project quality, approvals, and documentation throughout the lifecycle.
- Establish clear communication and reporting mechanisms to manage progress, issues, and risks.
- Share and embed project management best practice across the organisation.
- Mentor colleagues and support capability building within the wider business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Background in project management, IT, or systems.
- Financial Services experience.
- Proven track record of managing SDLC-driven projects.
- Skilled in project management tools, with advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex topics for varied audiences.
- Adaptable, proactive, and effective in fast-paced environments.
Desirable
- PMP certification (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of logical data modelling/management.
- Previous experience in financial services or other complex change environments.
