An international organisation at the forefront of digital transformation is seeking a Cloud-foance optimisation.

Role Overview

As a Database Administrator Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the design, deployment, and ongoing optimisation of both development and production database environments in the cloud. You’ll play a key role in ensuring reliability, security, and scalability across mission-critical systems using modern SecDevOps and CloudOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient database solutions in a cloud-native environment

   

• Implement and manage robust database backup and recovery processes

   

• Monitor, analyse, and optimise database performance across multiple platforms

   

• Design and enforce database architecture standards, indexing strategies, and schema best practices

   

• Apply security protocols including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability patching

   

• Collaborate across engineering, architecture, and security teams to align infrastructure with broader goals

   

• Automate infrastructure processes using scripting and CI/CD tools

   

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience managing large-scale cloud infrastructure, primarily within Azure

   

• Solid proficiency in SQL and major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)

   

• Strong background in database administration in a cloud-first or hybrid environment

   

• Competent with both Windows and Linux command-line operations

   

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
