The Role:
A leading digital consultancy is seeking a Head of Delivery to lead their project delivery function across web, app, and platform builds for high-profile clients. This is a senior leadership role that combines strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in major digital programmes. You will be responsible for ensuring delivery excellence, commercial efficiency, and continuous improvement across a varied portfolio of work.
You’ll guide a talented team of Delivery Managers, shape delivery frameworks, and play a key role in pre-sales activities and project kick-offs. Ideal for someone commercially aware, process-savvy, and passionate about building successful client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and evolve scalable delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) suited to varying client needs.
- Support pre-sales efforts by helping scope, estimate, and define delivery approaches.
- Lead the setup of strategic, high-value engagements (£500k–£1m+), including budgeting, planning, and stakeholder alignment.
- Maintain oversight of project performance, profitability, and resource utilisation.
- Manage commercial risk and take ownership of margin optimisation across the portfolio.
- Line manage and develop a team of Delivery Managers, fostering growth and excellence.
- Drive delivery-focused process improvement initiatives across the business.
- Act as a senior escalation point for client and delivery challenges.
Key Experience:
- Strong experience in a senior delivery role within a digital agency or consultancy.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale digital projects (£1m+ budgets).
- Expertise in Agile and hybrid methodologies, with flexibility to adapt per project.
- Commercially astute with experience managing project profitability and reporting.
- Knowledge of headless CMS, eCommerce platforms, and experience with DXPs (e.g., Optimizely) is a strong plus.
- Skilled in stakeholder management, with confidence liaising at the C-suite level.
- Experience mentoring and growing delivery or project management teams.
- Calm and pragmatic under pressure, able to juggle multiple priorities.
Why Join Them?
This is a chance to shape and scale delivery within a values-driven digital consultancy working with some of the most recognisable brands in the UK and internationally. You’ll be joining a collaborative and inclusive culture that supports professional growth, innovation, and purpose-led work. The projects are complex and impactful, and so is the team.
On top of this, they offer:
- Flexible hybrid working
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Private health insurance
- Enhanced parental leave policies
- Personal development budget
- Wellness and mental health support
- Regular team socials and events
- A diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace
