People Management Focussed Role
Salary: £130,000 per annum + bonus + benefits
Location: London
Your main responsibilities will include:

* Recruit and lead technical talent (currently a team of 5-10 engineers) in line with business requirements and technical roadmaps

* Be both highly technical and an effective people manager enabling the tech team to perform to a high standard

* Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives, and have an impact at an organisational level

* Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals

* Work with the CTO to develop and implement the strategy for technological development
You will be accountable for:
- Act as an advocate for technology vision both within the engineering community and the wider business community
- Develop a high-performance culture
- Bring a product-led and agile working mindset to the business
- Management of the platform, broader architecture, roadmap delivery and engineering function
- Establish technical best practices, policies, ways of working, testing and delivery strategies,
- Designing, maintaining and delivering a coherent, well designed, scalable and robust technology architecture
- Partner with Product Managers, Tech Leads and Senior Engineers to help build and achieve product roadmap plans with a high level of quality
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience of software development in FinTech , startups or scale up environments would be a huge plus
- A background in development with strong prior experience in languages and frameworks such as Java, Python, JavaScript, Node.js, Spring Boot, Flask, Kotlin
- Experience working in scaling teams where recruitment was a focus
- Experience with people management including 121’s, performance reviews and improving culture
