Position: Test Manager

Location: Kent

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + Pension

Test Manager required to join a well known Global Insurance organisation that is investing significantly into Test Management with all the last tools. You will be responsible for setting up an entire new function for IT Services and will involve creating the global testing strategy and a new team that will help set up the test environment, tools, policies and processes that will ensure consistently high quality services and applications are available to the user community.

This is a highly visible role where you will get exposure to the COO and Head of Operations and play a key role in being the SME for all things Test. This means you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance on test strategies and methodologies that will allow for the maturity of testing capabilities. You will work with the wider IT department to support testing across the full life cycle of IT change and help set up the Automated test function.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Background operating within Financial Services or Insurance is highly desirable but not essential
  • ISEB Certification in Testing (ISTQB Foundation; ISEB Test Practitioner; ISTQB Advanced: Test Manager)
  • Proven track record in setting up a Test function from the ground up or making enhancements or significant improvements to existing ones is essential.
  • Experience of IT service management disciplines based on ITIL or similar
  • Proven experience of implementing and developing a testing team and associated testing strategies in a large and complex organisation including establishing and leading best practice IT testing functions
  • Demonstrable knowledge of testing tools, methodologies and practices that improve testing capabilities and processes
  • Proven ability to lead and develop staff, and create high performing teams
  • Proven ability to improve testing maturity levels in a complex organisation
  • Ability to demonstrate taking an organisation from a Manual to a fully Automated test function is essential
  • Demonstrable success in improving the quality of IT change and ensuring the quality and reliability of services transitioned in to the live environment
