The ideal candidate will possess active SC Clearance, extensive experience with GIT and Jenkins, and proficiency in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies. This is a 6-month contract position, requiring on-site presence in Exeter for 2 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Management: Oversee all test activities within the defence programme, ensuring high standards of quality and reliability.
  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and schedules.
  • Automation Integration: Utilize GIT and Jenkins for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) to streamline test processes.
  • Methodology Application: Apply TDD and BDD practices to drive high-quality software development and testing.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and project management teams to ensure cohesive and efficient workflows.
  • Defect Management: Identify, track, and manage defects through to resolution.
  • Reporting: Generate detailed test reports and provide clear communication to stakeholders regarding test progress and outcomes.
  • Compliance: Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant standards and security requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Active SC Clearance: Must possess and maintain active Security Clearance (SC).
  • Testing Expertise: Proven experience in test management within complex programmes, preferably within the defence sector.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Experience with GIT for version control and repository management.
    • Proficiency with Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines.
    • Strong understanding and practical experience with TDD and BDD.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor testing teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Prior experience working on defence or government programmes.
  • Certifications: ISTQB certification or equivalent in software testing.
  • Tools Familiarity: Knowledge of other testing tools and frameworks is a plus.
