Our client, a well known e-commerce/tourism company, is currently looking for a hands on Test Lead, stong in E2E testing and defining and executing test strategies/road maps, to join on an initial 6 month basis on a major programne.

They are currently undertaking a major digtial transformation and this role be a pivital part in a re-platform to one of their core commercial systems, responsible for more than £30 million of annual revenue and critical to the financial and reputational success of the company. This program is key to their longer-term roadmap for commercial systems, and the new system will be crucial to their goal of being better connected to their customers.

The delivery team for this project is small, focused, and work in a fast-paced Agile environment. They require a confident and highly skilled Tester to help deliver something of real and lasting benefit to the organisation.

Responsiblities:

  • Creating a high-level test strategy and plan, encompassing multiple streams of development and system integration across the project architecture
  • Developing / writing tests at component, system and system integration levels where required to complement supplier tests and fulfil the test strategy
  • Collaborate with the project system analyst on data migration testing
  • In collaboration with Technology department, coordinate Security testing with 3rd party suppliers
  • Coordinate and conduct Performance testing where the test strategy identifies risks
  • Coordinate UAT with subject matter experts, collaborating on creating test plans and appropriate test scripts, supporting the execution and defect logging
  • Where appropriate, create and execute manual and automated tests and analyse results
  • Providing management summaries with an easy to understand rolled-up view of the number of opened, closed and blocked defects etc
  • Identifying upcoming risks to the project and advising the Programme Manager and Delivery Lead on these risks and potential mitigations

Requirements:

  • Ability to build a detailed understanding of the component systems and their integrations from existing documentation and collaboration with the project team
  • Able to consider the "big picture". Testing with the mindfulness of what systems are going to be recipients of the data or functionality being tested, as well as end user impact
  • Experience of testing traditional desktop applications, websites, 3rd party applications and services and complex systems integrations via APIs and ETLs
  • Able to test and explore REST API endpoints
  • An understanding of where test automation is appropriate and a knowledge of the tools to achieve it
  • Experience of performance testing, including load testing of APIs
  • A creative and analytical thinker who can carry out deep test investigations into complex areas (integrations, Data migrations etc)
  • Ability to create clear and concise documentation
  • Strong understanding and extensive experience of creating test scripts and executing them.

They have offices based in Central London. Although the role will be largely remote based, they need this person to be happy/able to travel to London as/when required.
