A Test Automation Architect with hands on experience working with Java, Cucumber, Selenium, API Testing, CICD and is needed to define and implement a new automation strategy on a high-traffic webstie and accross a large travel client.

As a Test Architect you will be the lead in the Core Automation Team and advise product/project streams on Test Automation through the SDETs and working closely with the Test Process Sponsor, Test Assurance Lead, and Head of testing. You will advise project boards on the risk profile of projects from a test perspective, educating projects around automated testing available when needed. You will be responsible for technical vision and design of automated testing frameworks, tools and infrastructure, maintaining training materials and documentation to evangelize test automation and educate project leaders about test automation techniques.

You will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Automated testing process owner and quality champion for automated testing
  • Responsible for the Continuous Quality Improvement Plan for Automation testing
  • Identify and agree correction plans for automated test-related risk and issues, and advises project board and QA Function
  • Identify assurance interventions required and assign assurance resources
  • Maintain and report to the quality function on the risk profile of projects from a testing perspective
  • Own and continually improve the overarching Automated test strategy, processes and relevant test artefacts
  • Ownership of automation test documentation and guidance
  • Provision of automation test management and test solution advice to the Project Design Authority
  • Arbitrate the progression of projects, through test-related quality gates

To be considered it is essential you have the following have the following proficiencies:

  • Ability to apply test automation technology strategically
  • Proven leadership, line management and upwards management experience and clear passion for leading and managing people and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, the ability and willingness to pick up new tools, processes, and technologies
  • Comfortable with learning quickly and applying acquired knowledge to solution development.
  • Firm understanding of agile development /testing methods

Technically you must have a strong understanding of the following:

* One or more of the following coding languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, Groovy, Shell
* Open source tools; Cucumber, Jenkins, Selenium (page object model), Maven, Git, Jira
* Expertise in ANGULAR web application dev
* Understanding of environment (LINUX) nd infrastructure (cloud, SAAS solutions)
* SoapUI- Web Services Testing

Nice to have:

  • Good understanding of DevOps
  • Accessibility, non-functional and performance testing

Familiarity with the following:

  • J-Meter - Performance Tools
  • Service virtualisation - aspectJ specifically
  • Mobile Testing Automation Tools
