Job Title: Technology Project Manager

Location: London - Hybrid

Salary: £49,000 - £52,000 + Benefits (12 Months Fixed Term Contract)

Technology Project Manager is required to join a charity Industry, in the London office. You will be responsible for delivering a variety of infosec projects, end to end, including planning, organising, staffing, leading, and controlling activities. This role will manage several projects concurrently, as well as work collaboratively across Technology and the wider organisation, delivering both Technology-led and business-led projects. The role will also manage the Information Security programme of work and involve working closely with the Head of Information Security in appropriately planning the roadmap, budgets, and resource requirements of future activities.

The Technology department is an integral internal partner for the business which helps to deliver the overall organisational strategy, which is to support research and innovation, help people affected by heart and circulatory disease, and drive income growth across our commercial, retail, and fundraising offerings.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that projects achieve their objectives in terms of time, cost, quality, and realisation of business benefits
  • Ensure the Information Security programme is appropriately managed with all future activities appropriately planned
  • Champion excellent project management and full communication with all relevant parties
  • Ensure appropriate records are kept to:
  • Control Projects
  • Provide Metrics
  • Document Requirements
  • Support contract & Supplier management
  • Support on - going system use
  • Provide the necessary suite of project documentation, including highlight reports, RAID logs, Lessons Learned, Project plans, Project budget reports
  • Guide stakeholders in estimating project timescales, ensuring project management quality process is understood and allowed for (e.g., stage gate decisions, Operations Board reviews, etc.)
  • Lead projects that cover the whole project lifecycle, from assisting with the business case and project set up, through supplier selection, to delivery and handover to 'Business as usual', including post-project benefits measurements, and post implementation review
  • Provide the required leadership on a project, ensuring that the project team and wider stakeholders are motivated and aligned towards project success
  • Own the project budget, working with Finance and internal stakeholders to accurately capture and forecast expenditure, raising change requests for approval where required
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners of the charity to deliver the agreed outputs, requirements and benefits considering the usual budget, time, quality, resource constraints
  • Liaise with colleagues and 3rd party partners in an appropriate manner
  • Manage suppliers and work package vendors in terms of support and development delivery, as well as contract, procurement and supplier management activities
  • Ensure all internal compliance processes are followed, such as Information Security and Architecture standards
  • Participate in user liaison and team project management meetings as appropriate to both control delivery of existing projects and to help map out future development plans
  • Support change management and communication activities in accordance with project plans
  • If required, take on portfolio management responsibilities for Technology related projects for an area of the organisation that aligns to your other activities
  • Work with other Technology teams to ensure the smooth transition of project activities into operational service
  • Each team member also contributes to continuous business improvement activities, and the flexibility to 'Roll up your sleeves' and go the extra mile when needed is a must.
  • Contribute towards and promoting the company strategy in line with your objectives
  • Any other activities as deemed relevant for the role by your line manager

Knowledge, Training, and Qualifications

  • Project Management qualifications in one or both of PRINCE2 or AGILE is required
  • Experience with MS Project, MS SharePoint, and Office tools Desirable
  • Business and/or Computing Degree preferred
  • CISMP - Certificate in Information Security Management Principles

Experience Essential

  • Proven track record of successful end-to-end delivery of Technology projects, including some relating to the InfoSec function
  • Experience of budget management for projects
  • Experience of managing projects involving a high degree of stakeholder engagement and change
  • Experience of writing standard project documentation Desirable
  • Experience of packaged systems selection, implementation, and enhancement
  • Understanding of change as it applies to similar organisations (£100m+) and experience of effecting that change in projects of at least £1m
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and a thorough knowledge of the legal frameworks that support contracts, statements of work and other forms of binding contracts
  • Experience in a not-for-profit organisation with an annual income that exceeds £50m and an understanding of the business models they employ
