Technical Architect (Infrastructure)

I’m looking for a strong technical architect to come and join a growing team based out of C. London 5 days per week. The position requires someone from a strong MS stack/Networks background.

Salary: Up to £100,000 + up to 20% Bonus

Location: C. London (5 days a week)

The Role

This role is the Technical Architect for the global business operating from their Group Head Office in London and across all their data centre locations globally. The Technical Architect will report directly into the Technology Director as part of the Information organisation and will be chartered with the mission to help drive growth through pragmatic and strategic technology direction partnering with all functions and sites across the business. You will be delivering innovative, forward thinking, cost effective and scalable architectures that enable the right ingredients for growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical lead expertise for the Group Information function.
• Operates at a global level over all functions, regions and sites and all end-to-end Group Information products and services.
• Responsible for delivering the full end to end integration elements or the Group Information strategy.
• Understand company needs to define system, infrastructure, and platform specifications.
• Plan and design the structure of a technology solution.
• Communicate system requirements to software development teams and implement directly where relevant.
• Evaluate and select appropriate software, hardware and infrastructure and define and implement integration methods to create an end-to-end ecosystem of products and services.
• Oversee assigned programs (e.g. conduct code review) and provide guidance to team members.
• Assist with solving deep technical problems and challenges when they arise.
• Ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure.
• Address technical concerns, ideas, and suggestions.
• Monitor systems to ensure they meet both user needs and business goals.

Essential Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management.
• Working knowledge of information management practises, system development lifecycles, IT services management, infrastructure, and operations together with Technical Architecture and ITIL frameworks.
• Experience in global and detailed project and programmes.
• Hands-on experience with software development and system administration.
• Blend of infrastructure and platform technical experience.
• Understanding of strategic IT solutions.
• Experience in service-oriented architecture (SOA)
• Knowledge of coding languages.
• Familiarity with various operating systems with a core Microsoft base.
• Experience in cloud technologies.
• Experienced networking technologies
• Ability to balance the long term (“big picture”) and short-term implications of individual decisions.
• Ability to translate business needs into Technical Architecture requirements.
• Ability to demonstrate the financial impact of Technical Architecture designs and alternatives.
• Ability to rapidly comprehend the business functions and capabilities of existing and new technologies.
• Ready to think, behave and act in an innovative and consulting manner to drive the organisations digital business strategies.
• Works with an agile mindset, making decisions and acting using sound judgement with the business needs in mind.

Desirable Experience/Qualifications

• Experience within the Data Centre environment – either managing or working knowledge.
• Defining and operating policies to ensure compliance with ISO27001 certification.
• Microsoft certifications or similar technical certifications
• Experience in an environment of transformation, ideally with experience in smaller and larger organisations.
• Experience of one or more of the following: Salesforce, ServiceNow, DocuSign, Archibus, Yardi.
