POSITION: Supplier/Vendor Service Manager

BACKGROUND

Our client based in Reading is seeking an experienced Supplier/Vendor Service Manager responsible for the running of the Service Portfolio, fulfilling the needs of the business and external customers. This role will involve the supervision of IT service, IT outsourcing, running of Software Licence and aiding in the transition of new and upgraded solutions, ensuring the business is supported when meeting customer experience and operational performance goals.

The position reports to the Head of Service Management, strategically focusing on performance of IT services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manages performance and service delivery of third party IT and digital suppliers and vendors eg. Applications, Networks, Infrastructure and MSP.
  • Aid in the introduction and management of Service Level agreements across the infrastructure estate for all service provision.
  • Manage the relationship for the business and outsource partners for service issues which need to be escalated to management level, whilst ensuring third party contracts are appropriate to deliver the level of service required.
  • Project manage new resources required for the development, planning and delivery of specified services, taking responsibility for the budgeting and estimating within agreed policies.
  • Management of the software licence management function, ensuring third party contractors adhere to and deliver the level of service required by the client.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience of IT Vendor/ Supplier Management.
  • Educated to a degree level (BSc or equivalent).
  • ITSM Certified Service Manager (ITIL).
  • A self-motivated individual with 5 years+ in IT operations management within large IS/IT organisation, adhering to ITIL standards (Experience of SAP is beneficial).
  • A strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of service and risk management, with experience in national/international standards (eg. ISO20000, ISO27000, ISO9001, ITIL, ISACA) and networking and communications.
