I'm looking for an established Solution Architect to come & join a leading retail company. Preferably with a strong background in E-Commerce & Cloud.
Salary: up to £100,000 p/a + 25% Bonus & 7k Car
Location: Watford Area twice weekly.
The Role
The Senior Solutions Architect will lead a small team of Solutions Architects in the delivery of high-quality digital solutions and architectural designs. This person will be able to effectively align Business, Data, Integration, Security, Application, and underlying Technology to design robust digital solutions.
The role will involve working closely with business stakeholders, product management, business analysts, lead developers, systems engineers, project managers and the wider architecture community to deliver viable, high-quality designs to the development and delivery teams.
The Senior Solutions Architect will be an expert in their field, well versed in technological developments and understand how changes affect the applications under their ownership. They will also be excellent leaders and managers within their domains of expertise and lead by example.
The role contributes strongly to the definition of the I.S. strategy, architecture vision, and the technology roadmap. Understanding the impact of change across the applications, people and processes are fundamental.
Main Accountabilities
- Able to lead, manage and develop a small team of Solutions Architects.
- Able to produce and/or contribute to high level architectural designs, undertake peer reviews and on-going collaboration to ensure the solution will meet the requirements.
- Lead and support the Design authority in highly complex enterprise scale-based environments in ecommerce, supply chain, depot, customer, and payment systems.
- Able to apply architecture standards, principles, capabilities, patterns, viewpoints, and systems modelling techniques.
- Solution architecture thought leadership and effective stakeholder management.
- Lead the definition of the baseline and target technology architecture, including current, future and transition states, and gain commitment to this across I.S. and the wider architecture community.
- Ensure that the technology architecture models, patterns and principles are well defined, appropriate and of a high quality. Ensure that the artefacts are effectively maintained, evolve at the appropriate rate.
- Lead the definition of the business case, RFI \ RFP and solution options (this includes participating in technology selection and procurement processes).
- Actively contribute to the definition and establishment of I.S. Architecture, Dev Ops and Security governance and processes
- Ensuring that the proposed design meets the needs of current and future business plans and ratify the high-level requirements which have already been defined.
- Responsible for communicating project and lifecycle changes within the Application[s] and ensuring that the end solution can be delivered and sustained whist remaining feasible within the budgetary limits.
- Keep abreast of technology and industry trends. This includes business domain and technology developments, as well as Architecture best practice.
- Expert in using models and visualisations to describe and communicate technology strategy, architecture, and design.
- Alignment to key policies in IS across security, disaster recovery, business continuity and overall governance. Ensuring services linking to the Applications are developed in a robust, performant, resilient and future proof manner.
- Demonstrate a high degree of innovation and creativity, balanced with the ability to make the complex appear simple by swift logical and analytical thinking.
