Engineering Manager | Remote (Within UK) | £80,000-85,000 + Bonus | React.js | Node.js | JavaScript | TypeScript

Having just received £35million Series B funding this established start-up are looking for a positive and forwarded thinking Engineering Manager to join their remote team of engineers.

Founded in 2015 they were the technology behind the first cashless restaurant in the UK, today they boast an array of very impressive clients including Nandos, YO!, Leon, Brewhouse & Kitchen, Honest Burger and Boston Tea Party.

You will be carrying out line management responsibilities for several engineers across multiple teams including catch-ups, reviews and personal development planning. Not only that, you'll also be supporting the next wave of expansion and onboarding of new engineers.

The operating system is built using React, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.

You will be responsible for the following on a day-to-day basis:

  • Regular 121's to build strong relationships and to check the general well-being of your reports. You action their concerns to the best of your ability, escalating when required.

  • Manage and support a high-performing technical team based in different geo locations.

  • Build an open diverse and inclusive working environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging, and welcomed.

  • Hiring: Identify, attract, retain and hire the best engineering talent.

About you:

  • You must have 3+ years of experience in management

  • Ability to communicate and present complex technical concepts to multiple levels of an organisation and to multiple disciplines.

  • Experience working across functional teams and managing and balancing expectations of the organisation.

  • Experience with Agile development practices.
