Role: Senior Network Engineer
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Oncall + Benefits
Location: Manchester / Birmingham (Onsite Working Required)

Role Overview

  • You would be responsible for supporting the delivery of excellent, cost effective IT Network services throughout all the company's locations nationwide across both the clinical and corporate functions. Working with IT teams, 3rd party providers, contracted resources and managed service partners ensuring the operational stability, availability and security of the IT Network services on a day-to-day basis.

  • This is a key role with the Technology division, working alongside other IT Teams to deliver outstanding IT services.

  • This will be a full time (37.5 hours per week) home-based role with a hybrid working pattern when required to travel to sites.

Key Requirements & Responsibilities

  • We are looking for experienced professional with 5+ years' experience within a medium/large organisation (~£500M+ annual revenue, 3,000+ end-users, 20+ different locations). The role requires a working knowledge across a broad set of networking technologies including LAN/WAN, switching, routing, firewalls, VPN, WLAN, remote access, network infrastructure, protocols and services, load balancing, and traffic prioritisation. The successful candidate will also need high levels of emotional intelligence and solid communication skills.

  • You will have responsibilities across all the aspects of networking, including:

    • Managing the environments; monitoring performance, ensuring system availability, reliability and providing input into capacity planning.

    • Undertaking typical break fix and support activities both on-site and remotely, as required.

    • Ensuring the highest level of support is provided across the infrastructure and business critical systems.

    • Supporting the evolution and development of the IT Network estate.

    • Actively participating in escalations to and from the wider IT team as required and taking ownership of major incidents.

    • Liaising with 3rd party providers and managed service providers, ensuring they are delivering to the agreed service levels.

    • Contributing to the wider strategy and processes for IT-related technologies.

    • Provide mentorship and guidance to other members of the IT team.
