Senior IT Business Partner, Supply Chain - Hampshire - £85,000 - £100,000

Job Purpose:

  • This is a Leadership Team post reporting to the Group Head of IT. The IT Business Partner is an active member of the IT Leadership Team.
  • This role works at a strategic level with Senior Business Stakeholders for their aligned Operating Units and Enabling Functions, in order to understand their objectives, strategic plans and challenges and then seeks to establish how IT and Operational Efficiency (OE) can support them through the best application of Technology and Digitalisation.
  • The IT Business Partner is responsible for managing and developing strong relationships between IT, Operational Efficiency and the other Operating Units and Enabling Functions that make up the Business.
  • The IT Business Partner works with their internal business and colleagues to develop IT Strategies for their Operating Units or Enabling Functions, working with them to develop business cases for business investment and assists them in navigating the governance and delivery processes which exist to manage demand, prioritise work and ensure effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic

  • Develop close and trusted relationships, at a senior level, with Operating Units and Enabling Functions. Work to understand their goals, strategic plans and challenges and how IT can support them.
  • Build a sound understanding of the market in which Operating Units work, understanding trends, challenges, risks and opportunities and position of competitors.
  • Identify digitally enabled innovation opportunities that may benefit Operating Units and Enabling Functions, liaising with strategic external partners and industry groups in order to develop new ideas for consideration.
  • Work with appointed Operating Units and Enabling Functions to develop aligned IT Strategies which will help them in meeting their goals and objectives.
  • Ensuring that each Operating Unit and Enabling Function has an aligned target architecture and data strategy.
  • Communicate the strategic vision for Digital and Technology Programmes to Stakeholders.

Governance

  • The IT Business Partner will interface with business Demand Management and Governance Processes, including the Technology Enabling Group, developing business cases and registering requests for work into these processes for review and prioritisation with relevant steering groups.
  • Review IT projects to ensure that they meet stated objectives, scope, quality and budget.
  • Establish a metrics and reporting framework to measure the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of IT projects.

Leadership and Management

  • Work closely with Operating Unit and Enabling Function Leadership teams to build an understanding of goals and plans, build strategic plans and understand where IT can improve the business.
  • Provide guidance to the IT & Operational Efficiency (OE) function on the needs, direction and priorities of Operating Units and Enabling Functions to ensure a stronger understanding of Business Priorities.
  • Work with Operating Units and Enabling Functions to develop high level requirements and concepts ahead of them entering the formal Governance and Delivery Processes
  • Ensure effective, two way, communication between IT/OE and Operating Units and Enabling Functions. Advising on Strategy, IT Policy, IT Security, Governance and Innovation opportunities.
  • Understand and raise technology related risks to relevant risk management processes.

Experience Required:

  • Proven track record in IT Relationship Management or Business Partnering posts. Experience in working as a senior level and interfacing with Business Leaders.
  • Proven track record and experience in developing effective relationships, strategic plans, business cases and prioritising in demanding environments.
  • Strong knowledge of IT Process, Technology and Strategy.
  • Strong IT financial/budget management skills
  • an outstanding understanding of supply chain
