Senior Front End Dev | Film & Entertainment industry | 1 day a week in the office | £75-£85k
The Senior Front-End Developer will be responsible for delivering high quality software for Digital Production Office. The ideal candidate will be able to write new code and refactor existing code using best software engineering practices, possess the ability to work independently, architect complex solutions based on requirements and deliver an intuitive UX. They should have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and be able to work in a dynamic environment. They should also feel comfortable leading junior members of the team, suggesting new technologies when required and taking part in code reviews.
The position provides an opportunity to be involved with the development of state-of-the-art technology within a friendly and ambitious environment. Working across the full development life cycle, the successful candidate will work in a small, dynamic team following software best practice to lead the development of financial and production technology solutions for use in the film, television and media industries.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Architecture and development of secure, scalable web-based and native business applications
· Conforming to best coding practices to ensure quality, performance, portability, maintainability, scalability and usability
· Communicating clearly with team members and project stakeholders
· Collaborating with other developers and leading junior members of the team
· Prototyping of key system features

Required Qualifications
· JavaScript (ES2015+) expertise
· Strong UI/UX design skills
· Experience with ReactJS or AngularJS 1.5
· Knowledge of build systems
· Knowledge of test automation
· Experience of architecting complex front-end solutions
· Good knowledge of application security patterns and frameworks and Security Best Practice (OWASP)
· Team focused; problem solver; highly motivated; innovative; diligent.
Preferred Qualifications
· A minimum of 3-5 years in software development; 1-2 years as a Sr./Lead Developer
· Knowledge of Web Workers highly preferred
· Experience with node.js including PM2 and Node clusters
· Solid understanding of JSON
· Knowledge of functional programming
· Experience using RESTful Web Services
· Good understanding of Component Based Architecture
· Familiarity with Git, NPM, Cypress
· TDD approach
· Familiarity with redux-saga
· Experience working in an Agile Methodology environment
· Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering Degree
· Background in HR/Payroll or Accounting systems
· Experience of porting JSP-based solution to React
· Experience in managing complex business logic in large dynamic forms
