QA Manager - Testing, Agile, Waterfall

I am currently recruiting for a QA Manager to join a leading London Market Insurance Brokerage working in their testing team.

Reporting to the Test Manager, the QA Manager will be responsible for planning and leading all phases and types of testing across key projects and application release.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Test Manager in the development of the overall Testing model including Quality Assurance as well as the likes of Business Readiness, UAT, Regression Testing to bring greater maturity to the organisation.

  • Ensuring that all Project and Application Releases have estimates and an agreed Test/QA Plan & Governance model detailing the scope, approach to testing, levels and types of testing, a test schedule, environment, data and resource requirements.

  • Ensuring that:

    • Test Scenarios and Test Cases are written, reviewed and committed to plan.

    • Risks and Issues relating to testing activities are identified and managed.

    • Progress of testing on each project / release is measured against the test schedule.

    • Corrective action is taken when there are deviations from plan.

    • The Project Manager and Test Manager are kept informed of progress on a regular basis

    • Each phase is formally signed off.

    • A Project / Release Test Completion Report is produced, reviewed and agreed to.

  • Being hands-on when required

  • To develop and maintain Testing procedures and guidelines and ensure that these are implemented and adhered to by in-house and third-party test resources.

Qualifications and skills:

  • ISEB or ISTQB to at least Foundation level

  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role managing or leading of testers (in-house and 3rd party, both on-shore and off-shore) of small to medium size

  • Prior experience working with 3rd party to refine Testing Operating Models

  • Experience of leading and delivering testing on Agile, Waterfall and Vendor / Partner delivery models
