A QA Lead with experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments, regression and UAT testing as well as an appreciation/understanding of where automation can be effective is sought for a 6 month contract role. The client are a University based in London and are embarking on a digital transformation that will see you working on multiple projects.

You will esponsible for ensuring quality of two related web-based projects, one a small waterfall project, the other a longer agile piece.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reporting progress of testing to Project Manager/Test Manager etceter
  • Likely to have a team of between one and three Test/QA analysts (TBC)
  • Overseeing and arranging the testing activities:
    • planning deliverables
    • working with Project Manager / Development Manager to maintain and update Kanban board in Jira
    • estimating work prior to sprint planning
    • scheduling and prioritising tasks for testers
    • reviewing bug reports and test cases
    • triaging bugs, both from internal testers and UAT
    • arranging and attending user acceptance (UAT) sessions
  • Carrying out testing activities (where appropriate)
    • writing bug reports and test cases
    • executing test cases
    • retesting resolved bugs
  • Perform any other tasks or activities required to fulfil the role of Test Analyst

Requirements:

  • A good eye for design and prior experience of testing modern, front-end websites
  • Demonstrable experience of leading a team, with remote workers a bonus
  • An understanding of the various defined test types; smoke, regression, integration, stress testing etcetera
  • Excellent communications skills and fluent English
  • An appreciation and understanding of agile methodologies, but with a flexibility to work waterfall
  • Experience of Jira desirable
  • Experience of composing documentation (plans/reports etcetera) a bonus
  • A scripting language a bonus
