QA Lead - Gaming

Permanent - £35,000-£45,000


The Role:

This exciting QA position is working for an exciting Start up within a well known Sports Organisation and is working on a number of exciting projects in the digital space.

Reporting to the Product Owner, the QA Lead will be responsible managing the end to end quality assurance process. The candidate will work with the Product Owner and external development partner(s) to ensure that the app is built to the specifications, quality and timelines our client expects.

As a QA Lead you need to be a strong communicator with experience of participating in sprint meetings and communicating directly with development partners. You will manage a product defects list to ensure that our products are delivered to the highest possible quality. You will also be responsible for the on-going maintenance of this Digital Venture post launch.

Must Have:

  • Intensive experience working multi-platform apps (iOS, Android, Mobile and Tablet).
  • Experience of API testing.
  • Test preparation, test artefacts management in fast pace Agile environment
  • Experience of using Jira or other tools for defect management
  • End to end test experience for concept to completion.
  • Ability to coordinate with Internal stakeholders & external developers
  • Outstanding attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities
  • Passionate about new technology and testing.

General Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the Product Owner & external developers to determine QA strategy and coverage
  • Determine if the software will perform according to the desired user experience
  • Create function, regression and sanity test check test plans.
  • Create the QA automation strategy.
  • Ensure that adequate test coverage is provided.
  • Execute test scripts and analyse and record results.
  • Identify defects/ anomalies and investigate their cause. Document and track these defects in Jira.
  • Recommend improvements to products to Product Owners & developers.
  • Document high level user guides and train others in new functionality areas.
  • Monitor software changes after release and confirm correct behaviour has been achieved
  • Define the QA process and quality standards.
  • Evaluate testing tools and software that can be implemented to aid QA and maximize testing coverage.
  • Attend team stand ups, sprint planning & review and task estimation
  • Be an active participant in sprint retrospectives and take any actions forward for continual improvement on the team's ability to deliver.
  • Must have working knowledge of CMS.


  • Deliver regular app performance reports.
  • Identify key areas of interest for reporting.
  • Assist with A/B test creation and generate comparison reports from the results.
  • Provide assistance in the definition of new requirements/ features for the app.

Nice to Have:

  • Basic exposure to QA automation tools Mobile apps using Selenium Webdriver, JAVA and Cucumber
  • Experience testing AR/VR/Kinect type products
  • Basic understanding of GitHub, CI tools


  • Physical fitness app test experience.
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles
