Overview of Role

Our client is seeking a Project Manager – Financial Services, to join a growing business change team and will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects from inception through to delivery. The role involves working closely with an outsourced partner to manage projects ranging from regulatory changes to operational enhancements and proposition developments. The successful candidate will ensure that projects meet quality, cost, and delivery targets while adhering to approved methodologies.

Responsibilities in Role

  • Project Management: Plan, manage, and deliver multiple projects using Microsoft Project or similar tools.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Maintain RAID logs, manage risks and resources, and ensure milestone achievements.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Estimate and manage project costs, ensuring projects stay within budget, applying change management processes when required.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate project progress to stakeholders, sponsors, and senior staff.
  • Team Leadership: Establish and lead cross-functional teams, ensuring efficient delivery and team collaboration.
  • Task Management: Oversee Business and Operational Analysts assigned to projects, ensuring day-to-day tasks align with project objectives.

What Profile is Required

  • Leadership & Initiative: A proactive and flexible individual with strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Experience:
    • Project planning and change delivery experience, especially within financial services
    • Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
    • Experience managing outsourced service providers and IT systems in financial platforms
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
    • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Qualifications: A project management qualification like Prince2 is preferred
