Principal Engineer

The Role
Working closely with the Architecture team, they oversee, advise and contribute where needed on projects. Different from other engineers, the role of principal engineer is a leadership role where they guide staff to ensure an engineering team takes the right engineering and architectural approach, correctly balancing technical goals with product goals and timelines.

You will leverage the latest technologies overcoming a variety of data and engineering challenges to allow our carers to administer care that is vitally important. Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Accountable for engineering teams adherence to development standards and processes
• Accountable for high level estimates, discoveries and resource budget
• Work with key business stakeholders up to c-suite, Team Leads and technical architects to explore and suggest appropriate technical solutions to achieve the required product features as well as monitoring technical progress against delivery plans. While safeguarding functionality, scalability and performance
• Build a talented high performing engineering team, through developing individuals and recruiting.
• R&D and future proofing our technology and architecture to make sure their able to implement its vision and objectives.
• Assist in technical audits, risk assessment and mitigation activities
• Provide expert advice and guidance in all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and ensure to deliver high-quality products
• Co-define and co-shape the technical strategy and architectural roadmap with the Director of Architecture.
• Empower the team to advance and accomplish an ambitious technical roadmap, and be hands on where needed.
• Accountable for the success of high performing teams by optimizing team performance driving continuous improvement along KPIs.

Skills and Experience

• Good communication skills and senior level stakeholder management
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills
• Proven experience in software development methodologies
• Recruiting, leading and shaping high performance development teams, including line management
• Experience in leading and maintaining relationships in a diverse, globally distributed team.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP and Azure
• Experience with Microservices and Event driven architecture
• Extensive engineering experience and deep expertise across multiple technical areas
• Demonstrable leading-edge expertise in a specific technology ecosystem and emerging technologies
• C#/.Net, JavaScript/React.
