Platform Support Analyst

Looking for a talented Platform Support Analyst to come and join an established Fintech company in the insurance industry. Someone who can provide platform support and with an interest in progressing into an engineering role down the line.

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (10% pension + 9% bonus)

Location: Fully Remote (or London office if preferred)

About the Role

This role provides application and AWS cloud platform support for business, it involves issue management from external and internal clients to meet KPIs and SLAs and to liaise with other areas of the company to ensure a robust and scalable production environment for all customers.

Main Duties

  • Support the implementation, running and upgrading of our software products on the company platform.
  • Identify and resolve issues with applications and cloud platform, following agreed procedures.
  • Analyse how customers use the system and collaborate with internal departments to identify patterns so that their Client Success, Platform and Development teams can address them.
  • Proactively monitor and optimise alerts and/or notifications and address the issue or assign as required to other teams for resolution
  • Investigate causes of incidents and seek resolution, escalating as appropriate.
  • Document and close resolved incidents according to agreed procedures.
  • Analyses causes of incidents, and provide recommendations to minimise probability of recurrence, and contribute to service improvement
  • Initiate and monitor actions to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems, processes, and services.
  • Determine problem fixes and assist with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures.
  • Automate management of all application components using provided automation tools.
  • Manage code deployments and environment sizing changes to controlled environments in a controlled, auditable manner

Essential Requirements

  • Understanding of and ambition to work with AWS platform
  • Working knowledge of a configuration tool
  • Good knowledge of monitoring tools
  • Certificate management
  • Understanding of containerisation
  • Linux system administration experience
  • Experience of software release management and infrastructure support

Non-Essential Experience

  • Good hands-on experience with AWS
  • Understanding of or, even better, hands-on experience with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Experience working with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools - e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Puppet
  • Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitoring experience, ideally with ELK, Prometheus or Icinga
  • Security understanding/appreciation
