Application Delivery Lead - Oracle Fusion Finance

My client is looking for an Oracle Application Delivery Manager for a permanent position based in London (one day remote working).

Role Purpose:

The Application Delivery Lead will be responsible for a portfolio of applications within the estate and will oversee all of the activities touching those applications from a change and service perspective. This will ensure that the applications within their remit deliver change effectively and are well managed, relevant and have a defined roadmap. They will also participate fully in the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of new Applications within their portfolio.

General Duties:

  • This is a line management role, leading a team of application managers and/or application consultants, developing the technical capability of the team is a key goal
  • Act as both a functional and technical SME for a portfolio of applications and ensure that changes (big and small) are appropriately designed
  • Manage incidents and problems in conjunction with infrastructure and managed service partners, liaising between business colleagues and incident/problem management , resources to ensure appropriate priority is assigned and impact is understood
  • Provide oversight of the Delivery of changes for these applications and ensure suppliers, approaches and methods are appropriate
  • Ensure that the delivery of small changes is prioritised and efficient and cost effective.
  • Responsible for ensuring that there are plans and strategies in place that layout the roadmap for both Functional and Technical changes as well as decommissioning
  • Ensure that the needs of business clients are fully understood and delivered against
  • Management of application budget and supplier activities and costs
  • Ensure that the appropriate governance, support and service management is in place and effective for each of their applications

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong functional and technical knowledge of specific applications for finance and reinsurance. Knowledge and experience of associated processes for these business areas is required and the role will typically focus on a particular domain, e.g. Finance and Reinsurance.
  • Oracle Fusion Finanials or R12 experience
  • Hyperion experience
  • Excellent Delivery Management expertise for both Large and small change delivery using structured project methodologies (agile and waterfall)
  • Good knowledge of Application support and service practices, ITIL qualification is preferred/desirable
  • Strong strategy, planning, consulting, problem solving and leadership skills
  • Budgeting, contracting, purchasing practices, policies and procedures
