Position - Major Incident Manager

Location - London

Salary - £45,000 to £60,000

I am working with a leading multinational financial services company, supporting the recruitment of a Major Incident Manager.


  • Manage and support all major IT incidents through to successful recovery and user satisfaction, ensuring effective and accurate communication with stakeholders and senior management across the various businesses within the group.
  • Mitigate the risk to the business and minimise service disruption by establishing root cause and consequent Root Cause, Problem Repetition Avoidance and Service Improvement actions.
  • Further develop and maintain Major Incident Management processes.
  • Regularly review performance and trends in response to major incidents and provide recommendations for service improvement across all domains.

Key Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Specialist knowledge of Major Incident Management processes, escalation procedures & related disciplines that are essential to provide customer support across multiple businesses, in a large-scale and diverse environment.
  • ITIL Certified.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Knowledge of Service Level Agreements and their application.
  • Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure and applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with an ability to present to management / peer group and facilitate meetings.
  • Sound stakeholder management skills. Able to effectively listen, communicate, challenge and influence support teams, peer groups and 3rd party suppliers.
