Position - IT Release Manager

Location - Bromley

Salary - £45k- £50 plus benefits

I am working with a FTSE 100 insurance group, who are actively seeking an IT Release Manager. The Release Manager will report into the Release management Team function and will be responsible for defining, maintaining and delivering the Release Management processes & implementation strategy required for an integrated omni-channel retail solution.

Accountabilities:

  • Forward planning of release windows across a portfolio of applications including third parties.
  • Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality.
  • Coordinate release content, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates.
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes.
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations.
  • Produce Deployment and Implementation Plans.
  • Weekly Release Reporting.
  • Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required.
  • Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities.
  • Maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
  • Continually work towards making improvements in the release process.
  • Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
  • Plan the development of scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms.
  • Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks.
  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.

Requirements:

  • ITIL Certified and commercially focussed professional with extensive experience in Release Management, who is highly skilled in the use of ITIL best practice.
  • Prior experience identifying and setting documentation standards and ways of working.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions with a wide stakeholder community.
  • Overriding understanding of the end part of the lifecycle.
  • Process/ Project orientated.
