Project Manager - Rail Industry

A challenging Project Manager role has arisen for a market-leading client within the Rail industry, you will be working alongside a talented team on a large digital project revolving around the Revenue Management/Revenue Forecasting Systems.

Due to some corporate reshuffling, the client is looking to bring on a Project Manager with prior experience within the Rail Travel industry, for an ongoing project with companywide implications.

This role is based between London (3 days p/w) and Birmingham (2 days p/w) - Travel costs will be expensed

Responsibilities

To work with the business to help formulate and implement the IT strategy for the Commercial Teams that look after Revenue Management

To support and at times drive technical innovation, including bringing the Business with you to help create an amazing customer experience

To lead the IT relationship and engagement with the Commercial Team

To evaluate supplier solutions with the business making recommendations for their suitability ensuring they conform to the overall strategic direction for IT systems

To work in partnership with the Business to initiate, plan, and drive IT projects ensuring they are delivered on-time, within budget and deliver the agreed business benefits

To monitor IT projects and report on progress, issues and risks, and cost control

To have sufficient technical knowledge to be able to manage and challenge IT suppliers who support Revenue Management, Yield, Forecasting and Analytical Systems and associated systems.

Personal Profile:

Proven track record of taking on existing projects and delivering according to objectives

Strong understanding of best practice Project Management approaches and how to apply them

Ideally, at least 3 to 5 years' industry experience working across a number of business critical projects

Desireable industries/sectors of the ideal candidate are - Rail Travel/Travel/Retail/FMCG (B2C)

Demonstrable background within a technical project management role
