La Fosse Associates are working with one of the world's largest Insurers who are looking to for a permanent IT Project Manager to join their EMEA IT Team.
The EMEA IT team are responsible for understanding the IT demands, priorities and issues within the business teams and making sure all IT requirements are understood and being managed. This role works very closely with the Global Development Centre (application development & infrastructure, based in Crawley) and the Business Change team. The team is a busy environment, who ensure that all service issues are addressed, and project demand is met and managed through the agreed governance process.
The role will be suited to an organised individual who is experienced project managing several projects simultaneously, covering the full project lifecycle from conceptualisation to approval, delivery, and transition to BAU teams. It's an excellent opportunity for a candidate who values project governance and accurate reporting as this is a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered in time and on budget. This will be a suited to an individual who has a track record in ensuring projects are initiated and structured correctly, that project sponsors and partners are engaged, and that projects progress to plan.
The client has an aspiration to increase our agile ways of working, it is therefore essential that the job applicant has some experience of working in an Agile environment. However, projects typically are a mixture of waterfall and agile.
Assume PM responsibilities on assigned projects being run within the team
Work closely with the nominated project sponsor, business owner and the wider business to ensure project needs are delivered
Organise and chair project & steering meetings and Coordinate and chair business partner meetings & workshops
Manage and work within cross functional project teams made up from the IT team (regional & GDC), Business Change & business reps (UW, operations, claims, etc.) and vendors
Run projects during the early feasibility and initiation process to ensure the objectives, benefits, delivery method and resource/costs are agreed and understood
Manage project budgets with the agreed procedures and ensure project governance is followed and approvals obtained, including the annual planning process
Maintain project artefacts (charter, plan, risk/issues log, status reports, requirements document etc.) and progress projects in accordance with the defined PMO standards
Promote the best PM practice and standards within the IT, PMO areas and assist with driving improvements
Qualifications - External
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Relevant years Project Management experience with IT projects
Proven Working experience in both Agile and Waterfall environments
Demonstrated history of working closely with both business partners and technical teams
Experience working with vendors
Insurance experience (preferable)
PRINCE 2 practitioner is advantageous
Agile qualification (e.g. Scrum Master, Agile PM or equivalent)
